Following on from the success of last years inaugural Morecambe Beer Festival the second Festival will be held at the iconic Winter Gardens on Morecambe’s Marine Road Central from August 15th to 17th 2013, this historic building overlooking the sandy shores of Morecambe Bay makes a splendid location for this festival.

the Lunesdale CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) branch are the organisers of this Beer Festival which will be open on the dates and times below.

  • Thursday 15th August: (Trade only 3pm to 5pm) public 5pm to 11pm
  • Friday 16th August: 12 noon to 11pm
  • Saturday 17th August: 12 noon to 11pm
  • Sunday 18th August: Drinking up session: 12noon to 3pm (or earlier if beer runs out!)

Live entertainment will be on Friday and Saturday only.

The entrance fee is CAMRA members £1.00! Non-members £4.00.

Cross Bay Brewery are the main sponsors of this years Morecambe Beer Festival and will be producing a one off Festival Brew for the occasion.

With 54 beers from 49 different breweries currently listed this magnificent celebration of the art of beer brewing. and drinking, is sure to have something to please everyone.

Tasting notes for this one off beer are not available at present. It’s sure to be a cracker.

Spectrum. Style: Bitter/Ale. Abv 3.9%

Brewed in conjunction with George Palmer and Julian Holt of the Lunesdale CAMRA branch, with only English malts and hops. A true take on the classic English ‘Bitter.’

Zenith. Style: IPA. Abv 5.0%

This was Beer of the Festival in 2012 – Zesty fruit flavours are followed by a hefty kick from the triple blend of hops, which makes this ale particularly special.

Arundel Brewery

Sussex Gold. Style: Bitter/Ale. Abv 4.2%

A rich golden beer with a hoppy, citrus finish. Very smooth, light and refreshing.

Barngates Brewery

Tenacious Ted. Style: Bitter/Ale. Abv 3.8%

Amber-coloured ale with a vibrant hop character on the nose and palate. Bitter-sweet and moreish.

Beartown Brewery

Bearly Literate. Style: Blonde/light. Abv 4.5%

Golden pale ale. Floral scented and packed with the flavours of summer fruits and lemon, ending with a smooth dryness.

Black Hole Brewery

Red Dwarf. Style: Bitter/Ale. Abv 4.5%

Sweetshop fruits with citrus and bitter after-taste.

Bradfield Brewery

Blueberry Ale. Style: Speciality. Abv 4.4%

A refreshing malty session ale with fruity,spicy overtones and a not too unusual blue tint to the head.

Brown in colour with tropical citrus flavours. The beer is dry on the palate and full of body.

The delicate hop characteristics dominate this beer, the pale ale has been triple hopped to give a smooth clean taste.
